Tyla van Niekerk
PAEDIATRIC
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Meet Tyla ...
A little background ...
Tyla graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Pretoria in 2023. During her studies, she completed her paediatrics block at New Hope School, where her passion for working with and treating children first began.

She completed her community service year in 2024 at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in Krugersdorp, where she was actively involved in several paediatric-focused clinics, including neuroatypical, neurodevelopmental, and clubfoot clinics. That same year, she also gained experience in the neonatal ICU at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

In 2024, Tyla completed a course in Early Childhood Intervention with a focus on developmental delay. She went on to join an orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy practice, where she developed key skills in managing sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions. While this broadened her clinical foundation, her passion for paediatrics led her to narrow her focus to working exclusively with children and young adolescents.

In 2025, she joined Donna Dudley’s Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice, where she continues to grow her expertise in paediatrics. She has a particular interest in school-aged children and enjoys supporting their physical development, especially in the context of school sports.

Tyla looks forward to completing her NDT training and further specialising in paediatric physiotherapy as her career progresses.
